Mike Condon makes incredibly lucky behind-the-back save (Video)
At this point in the season, the Montreal Canadiens don't care if their goaltender is lucky or good. They just need him to stop the puck.
Netminder Mike Condon got the nod against the scary good Washington Capitals on Wednesday night. With less than five minutes to go in the second period, the Canadiens weren't losing - they were winning!
Condon kept the Capitals from closing within two goals of the Canadiens by making what can only be described as an incredibly lucky save.
The goalie is totally out of position as Mike Richards flings a wrist shot on net. Condon reacts by twisting his torso around and gets what appears to be the glove part of his blocker on the puck. He uses his momentum to push the puck away.
Montreal was up 4-1 in the second period when this save happened.
The Caps made a furious comeback in the third period to pull within a goal. The Canadiens managed to hold on to get their second win in regulation since December 1.
